Avicii Announces Retirement

Sweidish EDM artist Avicii has announced his retirement from doing tours and live shows.

In an emotional Facebook post Tuesday March 29, the DJ, remixer and record producer thanked everyone whom he worked with. Avicii thanked his family, workmates and fans for sharing his journey in getting to where he is right now. The musician acknowledges his brother Ash who was with him all throughout his career. Avicii also mentioned his friends in the music industry who have helped him evolve as a musician.

While he said he enjoys what he’s been doing for the past years, he said he’s growing old that he needs to explore on other things that interest him.

In the end Avicii said he will continue to speak to his fans through music but not in the form of tours and shows.

“I will however never let go of music – I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I’ve decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let’s make them go out with a bang! One part of me can never say never, I could be back …but I won’t be right back.”

Here’s the complete post of Avicii on his Facebook page which has already reached more than 55 thousand shares, more than 153 thousand likes and more than 22 thousand comments as of writing.
