After announcing that they will hold Manila auditions for the 2016 global production of Miss Saigon, Cameron Mackintosh with ATEG on Tuesday February 16 released the finals details of Miss Saigon open call auditions in Manila.
On its Facebook page, ATEG posted the requirements and audition dates for Miss Saigon 2016.
Auditionees will have to be 16-40 years old with strong singing voices (all vocal ranges). They should have Asian/Eurasian features and proficient in English language.
To register, auditionees must bring thir photo and CV. To audition, they must prepare 16 bars of Miss Saigon songs (a pianist will be available to accompany the auditionees) or bring their own music scores or CD.
Registration will start on March 11 until March 12 from 10am to 6pm at the Opera Haus, 3657 Bautista Street (near the corner of Buendia), Makati City. The audition proper will be conducted on March 15 – 16 also at the Opera Haus, 3657 Bautista Street, Makati City.
Philippines has been a steady source of Miss Saigon talents since the 80’s.
According to Cameron Mackintosh’s Head of Casting, Trevor Jackson, “the Philippines has been integral to the show as a place to find exceptional Asian performers of world-class ability. Our teams have been returning regularly ever since. Filipino artists are the heart and soul of this show.”
