Strix Inc. and FireChat announced today that they are teaming up to enable live, offline communications at this year’s Chroma Music Festival.
Attracting over 15,000 attendees, the Chroma Music Festival is one of the largest events of its kind in the Philippines. The festival is taking place at the Globe Circuit Makati Events Ground
in Manila, Philippines on April 2 with renowned artists, such as Tujamo, Timmy Trumpet StadiumX and Zoo Theory.
FireChat is a free mobile app that enables live communications between smartphones, even if no Internet connection or cellular networks are available. FireChat’s award-winning technology allows people to communicate by connecting all mobile phones directly with one another, creating their own peer-to-peer network.
“We love to play with new technology, especially when it can help our fans,” said Leah Marie Canlas, Head of Communications for the Chroma Music Festival. ”FireChat brings us the freedom of communicating without any infrastructure.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Chroma Music Festival. For the first time in Manila, festival-goers can send messages to each other, even if they have no signal or load,” said Christophe Daligault, Chief Marketing Officer of FireChat. “This illustrates how any community can create their own free communications network, thanks to the phones we already have and a simple app.”
Festival-goers can now chat with one another before, during and after the festival. For direct access to “Chroma2016” chatroom, please follow this link on your (iOS or Android) mobile device http://firech.at/Chroma2016.
