Australian pop-punk band With Confidence recently ruled SM Malls with a series of shows that showcased their pop-punk vibe to Filipino audience. First stop was at the SM SkyDome in North Edsa last August 26. The band played six songs from their “Better Weather” album to the delight of a solid crowd.
Vocalist/bassist Jayden Seeley talked about the song Voldemort and said: ’Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself. Voldemort is my personification of mental illness and this song is a big-happy-and carefree f*#% you to Voldemort.’
Wrapping the night With Confidence performed “Keeper”, a track which parlays Jayden’s distressed, angst-ridden vocals, a contrast from the dude’s warm and sweet persona.
Then the band spent Saturday playing at SM Fairview’s Atrium and in SM Parañaque the following day.
2016 may very well be With Confidence’s year after signing up with Hopeless Records and releasing their debut album “Better Weather”. Fresh from their six-week stint Warped Tour in the US, With Confidence also made appearances at Slam Dunk Festival in the UK.
After their successful series of mall shows in Manila, With Confidence announced that they are supporting another Aussie pop-punk band, 5 Seconds of Summer, through a series of shows in Australia this October. The rest of the year will make the band busy with another tour in the UK with Real Friends and Knuckle Puck.
With Confidence in Manila was brought to by Pulp Live World.
