IN PHOTOS: Farewell Fair Weather Nabbed Jack’s Chosen One Award; The First-Ever Jack Daniel’s On Stage Philippine Indie Music Awards

Last Friday (17 April 2015), music lovers excitedly gathered and swarmed all over Whitespace, Makati to witness the most anticipated event in the local independent music scene this year, the Jack Daniel’s On Stage Philippine Indie Music Awards.

First acts to send the music-hungry audience to a musical nirvana were among the other Jack’s Top 14 Picks: Imelda, Curbside, Peso Movement, We Are Imaginary, Ang Bandang Shirley, and Earthmover.

And for the main event, the Top 7 bands – Tonight We Sleep, Farewell Fair Weather, The Strangeness, Penguin, Flying Ipis, Reklamo, and Autotelic – played their hearts out to bag the Jack’s Chosen One.

The night was amplified by the special performances of the incumbent Jack’s Chosen One, Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus, and two of the most iconic names in the local music industry: Cynthia Alexander and Urbandub.

In between sets, special awards were given. Among them were the NDFY Fan Favorite Song Award – “This Song Is Not About You” by Flying Ipis; the Rogue Indie Artist Award – The Strangeness; and the Radio Republic Prod of the Year Award – Docdef Productions.

The much-awaited revelation capped off the night. After the three finalists were selected, the Jack’s Chosen One award went to Farewell Fair Weather.

The Jack Daniel’s On Stage Philippines Indie Music Awards is powered by JB Music Philippines, and would not be possible without the help of its production group partners Revolver, Red Ninja Productions, Flat Five Records, Attraction! Reaction!, and Doc Def Productions; as well as its media partners Pinoytuner, Radio Republic, Splintr.com, NDFY.ME, Amplify.ph, and Vandals on the Wall. For 18 years old and above. Play with heart. Drink with care.
