Most people prefer spending their weekends on a beach while basking in fine sand so they could make the most out of the nearly-ending summer season. Our local metalheads, on the other hand, decided to spend it in another way. To them, nothing is as euphoric as getting themselves caught in a mosh pit while their favorite international and local metal bands sing (and scream) to them like how they really want angels to sound.
PULP LIVE WORLD returned this summer, together with RED HORSE BEER, and brought seven international metal bands to our shores for the 15th installment of Southeast Asia’s massive and longest-running outdoor metal festival, PULP SUMMER SLAM XV: ANGELS DESCEND.
This year’s international lineup included KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, CRADLE OF FILTH, ESCAPE THE FATE, THE WORD ALIVE, CARCASS, CHTHONIC, and SUFFOCATION.
Of course, the annual event would not have been complete, and quite as heavy, without the island’s best rock bands – KJWAN, WILABALIW, RAZORBACK, NOBELA (Muziklaban Winner), GODZILLA vs TOKYO (Red Horse Beer People’s Choice Band) and as anticipated, the BIG 3 of Philippine metal music – GREYHOUNDZ, SLAPSHOCK AND QUESO – who once again shared the stage after five years!
Almost fifteen hours of headbang-worthy performances left the fans ecstatic for next year!
