International artists set to conquer Manila at In The Mix 2016

A huge concert festival that will feature six international chart topping acts to be led by the English Indie Rock band, “The 1975,” is bound to happen for the first time, “In the Mix 2016,” on the August 18 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

MMI Live and Ovation Productions teamed up to create one of this year’s biggest music events – “In the Mix 2016,” which will also feature performances by “James Bay,” “Panic! At the Disco,” “Third Eye Blind,” “Elle King,” and “Twin Pines.”

The 1975 is returning to Manila for the third time now with their sophomore studio album, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it,” that includes hits like “The Sound,” “Love Me,” and “Somebody Else.” They have found their way to the mainstream charts through their chart-topping song “Chocolate,” and has built the hype prior to the release of their debut album by touring with different bands like “Muse,” “The Neighbourhood,” and “Rolling Stones.”

Since then, The 1975 has captured hearts of many from different parts of the world not just because of their good looks, but also because of their infectious unique sound that mostly talks about sex and love.

Grammy nominee James Bay on the other hand is an English singer-songwriter that is known for his certified platinum hit “Hold Back the River” from his debut album “Chaos and the Calm.” He has opened acts for artists like Kodaline, Hozier, and Taylor Swift for the past years and have also won the Best British Male Solo Artist award in 2016.

The Las Vegas based American Pop Rock band Panic! At the Disco who has recently released its fifth studio album, “Death of a Bachelor,” is also going back to Manila to perform for the second time.

Aside from being famous for their hit songs like, “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” “Nine in the Afternoon,” and “New Perspective,” Panic! At the Disco was also known for their controversial series of line-up changes since 2008 until 2015 which leaves Brendon Urie the sole member left from the original line-up.

Third Eye Blind, an American Rock band formed in 1993 just after vocalist Stephan Jenkins and Guitarist Kevin Cadogan became songwriting partners showing the same love for music after meeting at a show. They have made their way through the mainstream success in the later 1990’s after its second album, “Blue” became a platinum hit.

Elle King, an American singer, songwriter, and actress who encapsulated country, soul, rock, and blues in her music style. Her song “Ex’s and Oh’s” from her debut album “Love Stuff” has earned her two Grammy nominations. She is also the daughter of comedian Rob Schneider and ex-model London King.

Twin Pines, a three-piece indie band from Glasgow, Scotland showcases fresh and anthemic tunes. They have released their single, “Young Heart” just this May which proves that they’re a band people needs to look out for.
