After months in the competition, the 2nd Grand Champion of the Voice of the Philippines Season 2 has been named, Jason James Dy.
In the live finals showdown Sunday night March 1, 2015, Jason was named as the 2nd Grand Winner of the Voice of the Philippines. Jason edges out fellow finalists Alisah Bonaobra, Rence Rapanot and Leah Patricio to take home the 2 million pesos in cash, a house and lot from Camella, recording contract from MCA Music, a brand new car and other great prizes.
During Sunday’s final showdown, the 4 finalists did 2 performances each to get additional public votes. On the first round, the top 4 performed the songs of their lives, Leah Patricio sang “Run to You,” “Alisah Bonaobra” did “Go the Distance,” Jason Dy” sours with “Angels Brought Me Here” and Rence Rapanot with “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy.”
On the 2nd round, the final four had a duet with their coaches. Jason and Sarah G did their version of “If I Ain’t Got You,” Alisah and Apl de Ap sang “Hero/You Can Do Anything,” Rence and Bamboo with “Hinahanap Hanap Kita” and Leah and Lea shared the stage with “If I Were a Boy/You Ought to Know.”
Following the coach’s special number, the top 2 were revealed, Jason Dy and Alisah Bonaobra. The final two performed their last song, Jason Dy with Ariel Rivera’s “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” and Alisah Bonaobra with Celine Dion’s “All By Myself.”
After the final votes were tabulated, Jason Dy was announced as the 2nd Grand Champion of the Voice of the Philippines getting 52.94% of the public votes making Alisah the automatic 2nd placer with 47.06%.
