From a digital album years back, the alternative band Malay decided to re-record their “Your Year” album into a CD-format, which will be launched on July 25, 2014 at Last Home in Ortigas Home Depot.
“Your Year” was originally released as a digital album in 2012. But due to insistent public demand, the band decided to re-record all the songs from the digital album and added two new tracks for the 2014 version.
Speaking on the release of Your Year’s CD, Malay’s frontman Pochoy Labog says he almost regret releasing the songs digitally, but he thought it was part of their album’s journey. He also considers this new CD as “a first meeting with the listeners,” adding “they will experience the full sound of Malay for the first time.”
Pochoy further explains, “the decision to put this album out in CD format was brought about by requests from our listeners. I guess, to them, it is still necessary to have something tangible to experience the music.”
Malay is composed of Pochoy Labog (vocals and guitars), Miguel Dayanghirang (bass), and Alden Abaca (drums).
Meanwhile, music video of the album’s first single “Anak Ng Diyos” has already been released on MYX.
