Singer-songwriter Rico Blanco has signed a new record deal with Universal Records.
In the contract signing event held Monday October 6 attended by Universal Records’ General Manager Kathleen Dy-Go and Operations Manager Peter Chan, Rico Blanco bared plans for a huge comeback with his new album.
Blanco’s new record label Universal Records will be releasing his new album due this November 2015.
“It’s an honor to be part of this very prestigious family—well-known for giving the Pinoy music fans quality music over the years. So being a part of it now is a great honor for me.”
Rico’s new album will be a follow from his 2012’s “Galactik Fiestamatik” and 2008’s “Your Universe.”
In an interview Blanco shared the upcoming album will be different from its predecessor saying the new album will be go back to the basics.
“I’ll be leaving the “Fiestamatic” sound and will go back to basics. It’s gonna be that kind of album na mabilis. Limiting myself to just a few musicians but these are the best musicians I know with few instruments as possible. Like back-to-basics album.”
He also revealed he will be joined by other musicians Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Roll Martinez in the new album. And added the three will be his band mates for the entire album.
