Sarah Geronimo wins MTVEMA’s 2014 Best Southeast Asian Act

The Philippines’ Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo finally got it this time.

On Thursday October 23, MTV Asia announced the winning of Sarah Geronimo as MTV EMA’s 2014 Best Southeast Asian Act. Sarah was chosen from having the most votes from the fans which started last September 29.


She beats out competition from Vietnam (Hồ Ngọc Hà), Indonesia (Noah), Thailand (Slot Machine), Singapore (Stefanie Sun), Malaysia (Yuna) and the wildcard nominee from Indonesia Agnez Mo.

With this win, Sarah now enters round 2 of the Worldwide Act competition. She is now pitted against BiBi Zhou of China & Hong Kong, and Hebe Tien Taiwan. The nominee with the most votes from October 23 12PM to October 29 11:59PM will be the regions representative to the Best Worldwide Act in the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Should Sarah wins round 2, she will be up against the representatives of Africa/India/Middle East, Australia/New Zealand, Europe North, Europe Central, Europe East, Europe South, Latin America, North America and Japan/Korea.

Best Worldwide Act winner will be announced during the MTV Europe Music Awards show  on November 9, 2014 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
