Song Review: Heart Song – Mica Javier

Heart Song,” the first solo single of the newcomer pop-r&b artist Mica Javier, who is also the niece of APO Hiking Society’s Danny Javier. The song is written by her and Davix Foreman of GrineHouse, and arranged by BoJam of Flip Music. The Manila-born international recording artist has successfully entered local music scene.

The track has a local feel with international appeal. The song starts with vocals as if it were coming from cosmic space. The song then progresses into an easy-listening soulful tune. The rhythm switches the listener’s mood into mid-tempo disco dance mode.

Some parts of “Heart Song” use exaggerations to show the enthusiasm of finding a special someone despite whatever hindrances. “I would blow up a million stars just to find your love in the sky.” The song is all about what does heart speaks and not what the mind says. It also talks about the wonderful feelings of being in love with someone that is worth missing and longing for. “If there’s no you, my heart is missing.”

The song shows how important that special person is. Of course, that line may very well work as a pick up line of sorts.

The choreography for the sexy dance music video for “Heart Song,” released in May 2014, was done by the Philippine All Stars. It showcases her talent besides being a singer and songwriter as she performs funky yet classy dance moves, enough to keep pace with the performance of the versatile dance group.
