Thyro and Yumi wins Philpop 2015

The formidable tandem of Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana did it again at the Philpop Music Festival after winning the top prize Saturday night.

At the Philpop 2015 Finals night held at the Meralco Theater on July 25, 2015 and hosted by Mark Bautista, Bela Padilla Sam Pinto, and Chris Schneider, Thyro and Yumi’s entry “Triangulo” was named as this year’s Grand Prize Winner. The song interpreted by Thyro and Yumi with Jeric Medina gets the nod of the judges to rise to the top of this year’s Philippine Popular Music Festival. A song about a woman torn between 2 lovers, the song’s catchy lyrics and upbeat melody catches to judges hearts to be this year’s OPM best.

This is the 2nd Grand Prize for the music duo after winning their 1st in 2013 for the song “Dati” interpreted by Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos with Quest.

Following Trianggulo are Davey Langit’s “Paratingin Mo Na Sya” and Mark Villar’s “Sa Ibang Mundo.”

Thyro and Yumi took home 1 million pesos as grand prize while the runner’s-up took home 500k and 250k Php respectively.

People’s Choice Awards: “Sa Ibang Mundo” by Mark Villar, Interpreted by Kian Cipriano and Nadine Lustre
