Prominent OPM composer Willy Cruz has died Monday April 17, 2017 at St. Lukes Hospital.
The 70-year old musician succumbed to death after battling a week of comatose condition due to stroke.
In a statement, Cruz’ sister Magdalena Africa asked everyone to remember Willy through his songs and music.
“Please remember Willy and his love for music and how he glorified God through his songs,” she said
Before his death, Willy Cruz was known for some of the most famous OPM classics that he composed. Those includes “Pangarap Na Bituin,” “Kumusta Ka,” “Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi,” “Doon Lang,” “Let The Pain Remain,” “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas,” “Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin,” and “Bituing Walang Ningning.”
As one of the most prolific Filipino songwriter, Willy Cruz was able to work with some of the most famous and well-known Filipino singers and music artists which include Sharon Cuneta, Nonoy Zuniga and Pilita Corales.
Details of the wake and interment have yet to be announced by his immediate family.
